Dr. Rolance Chavier Roper serves as Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at Epic Healthcare Solutions, leveraging more than 30 years of clinical experience to contribute to the organization’s vision.

In his role, his preventive-care focus centers on integrating digital solutions that enable healthcare professionals to identify early indicators of cognitive decline in their patients. Under his leadership at Epic Healthcare Solutions, Dr. Chavier Roper ensures that this technological framework supports timely, targeted interventions at the earliest stages, optimizing the use of medical resources and elevating the standard of care for patients with neurocognitive conditions.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Chavier has been a key leader within Puerto Rico’s healthcare ecosystem, including serving as President of the Puerto Rico Medical Association. He has devoted much of his professional life to preventive care in diabetes management, having chaired the Center for Primary Care and Diabetes Prevention (2005–2025) and led prominent Independent Practice Associations (IPAs) on the island.

His commitment to developing the next generation of physicians is reflected in his previous role as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine.

After years of leading the fight against diabetes through a preventive care model, Dr. Chavier now applies the same philosophy to cognitive decline. His extensive expertise enables him to bring a clinically grounded perspective to Epic Healthcare Solutions, guiding the implementation of data analytics technologies designed for early detection. This proactive approach not only improves patient outcomes but also supports effective medical costs management by preventing the progression of cognitive impairment diseases. It is this ability to merge clinical practice and a preventive approach with strategic innovation that empowers Dr. Chavier to strengthen Epic’s impact on population health.

Dr. Chavier earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine, completing his medical training from 1989 to 1993.
